What Makes a High Current USB Type A Connector Different

High-current USB Type A connectors focus on improved power transmission capability and reliability. They are often selected for equipment that needs higher charging performance or stable 5V output under continuous operation.

These connectors typically feature:

  • Optimized contact plating

  • Reinforced terminal structure

  • Lower contact resistance

  • Improved mechanical retention

  • Longer mating cycle life

This makes them suitable for environments where standard USB connectors are not sufficient.

Key Features of M&T USB2.0 4P T/H High Current USB Type A Connector

High Current Transmission

Designed to support higher current compared to conventional USB2.0 connectors, ensuring stable and efficient power output for demanding devices.

Reinforced Through-Hole Structure

The T/H (through-hole) structure provides stronger PCB anchoring, ideal for equipment experiencing mechanical stress such as plug force, vibration, or repeated operation.

Low Contact Resistance

Precision contacts ensure stable conductivity even under high current loads, reducing heat generation and improving long-term reliability.

Durable Housing and Pins

Using high-temperature, high-strength materials, M&T connectors maintain their mechanical stability during soldering and continuous operation.

Gold-Plated Contact Options

Contact plating options include selective gold plating for enhanced corrosion resistance and signal stability.

Broad Compatibility

Fully compliant with USB 2.0 standards and suitable for devices requiring both data communication and higher power supply capabilities.
